House Fire June 29th, 2005
Haleyville Fire/Rescue was busy again Wednesday night June 29th, responding to 3 alarms between 8:30pm and Midnight including this house fire in the area of 12 street and 5th avenue. Upon arrival firefighters found a 1 story wood frame house fully involved with downed power lines arcing in the yard. It took firefighters about 1 hour to bring to fire under control. Initially firefighters were told the resident may still be in the house but after completing a search it was determined that no one was home. One firefighter suffered a minor arm injury and heat exhaustion and was transported by RPS ambulance to Lakeland Community Hospital where he was treated and released. Responding units included Pumpers 1, 3, Tanker 6, Rescue 1, Haleyville Police Department, RPS Medic 822 and Alabama Power.
